You need one or two good cameras, a stable tripod, and a good lighting system. DSLR and digital cameras take different photos, so make sure you find the best for you. When submitting your work, you have to have a portfolio on hand or available online. This is just in case the editor of the fashion magazine wants to see samples of your work. If you have already had your work published on a publication, literally tear a sheet out of the magazine. It is best that you have a minimum of 20 photos in your portfolio and most preferably different styles. You want to show your expertise in full figure and partial body parts.
Set up a website; join contests and submit your photos to websites that sell stock photos to earn extra money. Submit them to an online fashion gallery. This helps with getting your work is seen and people can see what type of work you actually do and can do for them.
Fashion includes jewelry and accessories. Hence, sometimes a watch from a famous brand on the slender wrist of a woman is a great fashion shoot.
